The United States does not exclude the possibility of supplying tanks to Ukraine, but is not yet ready to announce such assistance, said on Friday, September 30, national security adviser to the American president, Jake Sullivan.
“I don’t exclude anything, but today I’m not ready to announce (supplies) of American tanks,” an American official answered a journalist’s question about the readiness of the States to supply Kyiv with tanks, including Abrams models, writes RIA News.
In the same speech, Sullivan noted that now is not the time to discuss the issue of Ukraine’s entry into the North Atlantic Alliance (NATO). He also noted that the discussion of this issue in Brussels should begin at other times. Nevertheless, Washington still adheres to the policy of “open doors” and does not abandon its original position.
NATO Secretary General Jens Stoltenberg said earlier that Ukraine’s entry into the alliance will not. He recalled that for Ukraine to join, it needs the support of 30 member countries of the bloc.
