Japanese Foreign Minister Yoshimasa Hayashi summoned Russian Ambassador to Japan Mikhail Galuzin, where he was “resolutely protested demanding an official apology” after reports of the detention of Japanese Consul Motoka Tatsunori in Vladivostok.

“In response to the current situation, Vice-Minister of Foreign Affairs (Takeo – ed.) Mori summoned Russian Ambassador to Japan Mikhail Galuzin to the Foreign Ministry today and protested strongly to him demanding an official apology from Russia, as well as taking measures to prevent such situations from We urge the Russian side to take this protest and our demands seriously,” RIA Novosti quoted the Japanese side as saying.

Earlier, “SP” wrote that the FSB of the Russian Federation detained Motoki Tatsunori, Consul of the Consulate General of Japan in Vladivostok, when he received information of limited distribution. Motoki Tatsunori was declared persona non grata in connection with activities incompatible with the status of a diplomat, and a protest was lodged with the Japanese side through diplomatic channels.

It is worth noting that Tatsunori, after being detained, admitted that he had violated the law.
