An adviser to the mayor of Vilnius, Karolis Zhukauskas, offered to take the territory of the Russian embassy and transfer the land to Lithuania. How informs Sputnik “Near Abroad”, in social networks, he explained his initiative by the fact that Russia is holding referendums in the liberated territories.
Zhukauskas did not explain how voting in the republics of Donbass, Kherson and Zaporozhye regions is connected with the Russian diplomatic mission.
Recall that the Baltic countries opposed Russia’s actions in Ukraine. On September 19, Estonia, Latvia and Lithuania stopped letting Russians into their territory with Schengen visas, including those issued in other EU countries. Vilnius has also said it will not issue humanitarian visas to Russian citizens who avoid partial mobilization.
Earlier, a video of the beating of a Russian citizen by Lithuanian security forces also appeared on the Web – they took him to the border with Belarus and threw him out of the car. Later, the Russian Embassy in Vilnius demanded clarification from the Lithuanian authorities on the situation.
