The head of AvtoVAZ, Maxim Sokolov, announced the company’s plans to continue production of the updated Lada Vesta model in March 2023. The corresponding statement did in an interview with Maxim Kadakov, editor-in-chief of Za Rulem magazine.
According to him, the cars will roll off the assembly line of the plant, which is located in Togliatti.
“The transfer of production to Tolyatti is in full swing. I have no doubt that in March 2023 we will start mass production of the new generation Vesta. The first test body will be welded in early November. Then there will be a period of debugging the entire assembly process, ”Sokolov emphasized.
He estimated the level of localization of Lada Vesta at about 85%. The top manager indicated his intention to produce up to 14,000 of these vehicles.
The shortage of spare parts led to the suspension of the production of the updated Lada Vesta, which is presented at the enterprise as a model of the “new generation” (NG, new generation).
Earlier, the head of AvtoVAZ, Maxim Sokolov, advocated the use of maternity capital to buy a Russian car. In addition, he considered it necessary to introduce a legislative norm for taxi fleets on the presence of Russian cars. Sokolov pointed out that the country is considering an amendment to the law on taxis.
