Wang under the index HQ9, owned by the Chinese concern FAW, the luxury brand Hongqi (“hunts” or “red flag”) was declassified back in the summer, at the same time pre-orders were opened. And now the exact price list has been published in the Celestial Empire and live sales have been launched. Note that this is the third major serial premiere of Hongqi this year: earlier, a frame SUV entered the local market LS7 and sedan H5 second generation. Well, let’s add that the MPV segment is quite in demand in China, and minivans are in special demand in the business environment, because it is so easy to turn a monocab into a mobile office. So HQ9 is addressed primarily to businessmen.

Despite the status of “luxury”, in terms of technology, Hongqi HQ9 has not yet offered anything outstanding. The model is based on a front-wheel drive platform. A 2.0 petrol turbo four is installed under the hood, which produces 252 hp. and 380 Nm, the engine is combined with an eight-speed “automatic”. Later, the van should receive a rechargeable hybrid version, but details about the filling are not yet available.

Hongqi HQ9 length is 5222 mm, width – 2005 mm, height – 1935 mm, wheelbase – 3200 mm. If you do not take into account the height, then the “Chinese” in all respects overtook both the Toyota Alphard minivan, familiar to Russians, and made on the basis of the last van Lexus LM. HQ9 “stands” on 18-inch wheels.

Appearance was made in the current Hongqi corporate style, the main feature of which is a huge radiator grill a la Rolls-Royce. Inside – a 7-inch “tidy” screen and a multimedia system with a touchscreen with a diagonal of 16.2 inches. The minivan has a seven-seater saloon with two separate seats in the second row, which have electric adjustments, retractable footrests, ventilation and a massage function. And second-row passengers are invited to manage all the settings using their own remotes – touch panels are built into the armrests.

Also in the arsenal of the Hongqi HQ9 are a panoramic roof, a head-up display, all-round cameras, adaptive cruise control, a lane keeping system and an advanced car park.

For a new minivan, they ask for 51,000 – 76,500 dollars. Hongqi HQ9 will compete not only with the Toyota Alphard and Lexus LM mentioned above, but also with Voyah dreamerBuick GL8 Avenir and GAC Trumpchi M8 Master.
